THE DOMAIN COM IS GONE? I'm Back to Free Blogspot Now! ~ A Bunch of Stories - (Life Update)
(The title is a bit 'triggering', bordering on hyperbole, as usual haha).
Actually, it's not that the domain is gone, it just expired and I didn't renew it. This February marks the end of the year since I started using jisazahrah.com. It's a bit sad to let go of that domain because it looks more professional than 'Blogspot', but considering this blog is brand new and hasn't been monetized yet (and let's be honest, I'm lazy about posting, what were you expecting?), I decided not to renew the .com domain, even though a part of my heart ... doesn't want to.
After all, I also showcase this blog on my Instagram profile, so it makes it look cooler, especially with an external link to a private blog like this, and even more so if the domain is paid for with a .com, it creates a more attractive impression (who am I trying to impress?!).
On the other hand, I rarely upload, and it feels kind of pointless to have an elite domain but barely upload. Right? Haha, I mean, the number of blog posts I've made this month is only in the dozens (not even 30, I guess, oh wait, I checked and it's not even 20, just a few posts). Imagine that as being like buying an annual pass to Dufan for 3 months, or even a year, but you only end up going there once or twice. But Dufan is still better tho, because the Dufan analogy still has some loss. After all, you have to pay again to enter Ancol Beach, not to mention parking, while writing on a blog is completely free to upload (you only pay for the domain if you want) and you actually get paid if you're diligent, get monetized, and have high views. And can you imagine I paid for the domain but still ended up writing few?
Oh yeah, moving away from blog talk. Two days ago I checked my semester grades through KHS (Kartu Hasil Studi) or Study Report Card and turns out I got straight A's (FULL). Yup! I got a semester GPA of 4.00, woohoo *do a celebration.
This is the highest GPA ever, even my boyfriend (Reza) couldn't beat it, his highest during his undergraduate studies in English Education was 'only' *ahem, only in the 3.90s or 3.81s above.
AND HE GRADUATED WITH CUMLAUDE, omg am I the next cum laude? Aamiin!!!
Also, I was a bit confused yesterday about whether or not to learn Japanese. I've been interested in Japanese for a long time, and that's why I know some basic Japanese. It goes way back, around elementary school days. Back when I was first into Jeketi aka JKT48, hahaha.
But I also thought about the benefits, even though I loooove the Japanese culture, even the language itself, I felt like I should maximize my time for things I really need. It seems like Japanese is just a desire, and on the other hand, I did some research and found that Japanese still falls behind the European languages I want to learn (such as German and French), including both of those languages being official UN languages. While Japan isn't, it's not an official UN language. Plus, young Japanese people are increasingly interested in and even learning to speak English. (Just an excuse because I'm way too lazy to learn hiragana, katakana, and kanji).
Well, I'll definitely still learn Japanese, though not now, maybe in 2 years, after graduation, I'll immediately go for JLPT N5.
As I was typing, I suddenly remembered my dad in Tarakan, North Kalimantan. Writing this makes me a little sad, I remember my memories when I was little. It's really random, how my mind can wander there. I remember playing in a pool with a fountain from a statue of a girl holding a jug (supposedly running the water, then there was a hose), but what was memorable about that pool wasn't the water or the fish (I forgot if there were any fish), I just remember the frogs! There were tons of frogs there, from small to big... My dad often took me to that park when I was little. One of the legendary parks in Tarakan.
Hey, how did I go from talking about domains to talking about frogs? Huh, anyway, today is Valentine's Day and Election Day. Uh, should I mention the most important one first? Okay, we'll start again, anyway, today is Election Day 2024 and Valentine's Day. I wasn't really expecting anything today, except for basic things like a good life and enough to eat, but honestly, I'm surprisingly not that excited about Valentine's Day this year and I tend not to care. All I care about is the chocolate discount at Alfamart (incredible! haha), I got a medium-sized chocolate for half the price, it was originally around 20.000 rupiah or 17.000 rupiahs or something, so it's only 10k. Haha.
Then I'm only interested in the news about my mom who is part of the witness team in the election (she got two witness positions this time), wow. My mom is so strong, Masya Allah. Then Reza also became a member of KPPS 6 or 8, I forgot the number already. And then, I can't wait to wait for the quick count, I wonder who will win, because there is no TV in my dorm room so I don't know who is currently leading the count, lol.
But yeah, that's all for my life update this time. I'll check the quick count results on social media or wait until tomorrow and people will be making a fuss, hahaha.
See you and take care, sweet pie!
